Are you an outdoor enthusiast? An aspiring or seasoned environmental professional? A nature devotee? Interested in water resources management? It’s that time of year again…we are now recruiting volunteers for the annual fish population survey! Join us this December for a day or two…or six! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY to spend a day e-fishing in the Kings River networking with a friendly crew of hard-workers.
The annual electrofishing survey offers key insight into the health of the lower Kings River, providing the Kings River Fisheries Management Program with valuable data to estimate the relative health and abundance of rainbow trout and other native fish. Annual data gathering allows the Program to assess fish population fluctuations and trends within the tail water fishery. The survey also helps detect the presence of invasive species. You have the opportunity this December to join us in this important endeavor!
The survey will take place December 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, and 10th. Volunteers must be 18+, be in good health, and able to walk on unsteady or uneven surfaces. All necessary equipment and lunch are provided to our volunteers. Check out our VOLUNTEER PAGE for details!
