Calling All Volunteers!

The Kings River Fisheries Management Program is seeking ongoing and single-day volunteers to assist with all aspects of the trout incubator program. The incubator program is responsible for the release of over 200,000 trout fry into the Kings River each year, and requires the help of volunteers like you to contribute to our local river’s health and biodiversity.

The trout release ensures a diversity of trout age classes and contributes to a robust fishery, key to river ecosystem health. The fry start out as eggs delivered to the Program’s incubator building along the river, and are released once they reach approximately 1.5″-2″ in length.

Both ongoing and single-day volunteers are needed. Please visit our volunteer page for additional details, or contact KRCD Resource Analyst, Lori Werner at lwerner@krcd.org.
